ABOUT NATHALIE MICHAUD

I've been where
you are.
That's not a line.

I spent at least 15 years leading teams, navigating complexity, and doing the job — before I started helping other leaders do it better. Not from a textbook. From the room where the decisions actually get made.

"The goal isn't that my clients need me forever. It's that they walk away with a compass they can use on their own."

THE STORY

I took the
scenic route.

"My clients don't have to do what I did. Frankly, I don't recommend it as a strategy. But it's why I can sit across from someone who says everything's fine — and know immediately that it isn't."

I spent at least 15 years leading teams — up to 500 people at a time, budgets north of $20 million — across Canada and internationally. I was, in the most literal sense, in the leadership trenches. Some days that was genuinely great. Other days it was the kind of complexity that doesn't show up in any leadership manual, and you'd have found me staring at the ceiling wondering whose idea this whole career was.

I was good at it. I had the track record, the results, the titles. And somewhere along the way — without quite noticing — I'd built a career that looked right from the outside and felt increasingly hollow from the inside. The work was solid. The aliveness wasn't quite there anymore.

So I did what any completely reasonable person would do. I quit. I spent three years traveling and living in five different countries — scuba diving, hiking, photographing, occasionally meditating. I went looking for what I actually wanted, as opposed to what I'd been building toward.

What I kept coming back to — across every role, every country, every conversation — were the moments when I truly connected with someone. When I could see through the noise and recognise who they were at their best. That's what made me feel alive. So I became a coach.

For the past 12 years I've worked with hundreds of leaders — from middle management to C-suite — across technology, financial services, mining, telecom, utilities, public sector, and aviation, across Canada and internationally. I've also designed and led leadership development programs that have reached over 1,500 leaders. The industries are different. The titles are different. The patterns underneath are almost always the same.

I work in English and French, in person and virtually.

WHAT I ACTUALLY DO

Two ways in.
One real connection.

I work 1:1 with leaders through executive coaching. I also design and facilitate leadership and team coaching programs for organizations who want that depth at scale. Different formats, same belief underneath: real connection — with leaders, with their teams, in a way that's honest rather than polished — is what actually moves people. I understand the relentless change and chaos most leaders are navigating, because I navigated it myself for over 15 years before I started doing this work.

INDUSTRIES

MY VALUES

Authenticity, connection, and real movement.

Those three things guide everything I do — in 1:1 coaching, in team work, in every program I design. In practice, that means:

01

Your journey

Every engagement is tailored to your actual situation, your values, and what you're genuinely working toward — not a fixed curriculum applied the same way to everyone.

02

Your growth

Building resilience, fostering real collaboration, and helping you find your way back to a kind of leadership that actually feels like yours again.

03

Your impact

Leading with clarity and intention doesn't stop with you — it changes what your team feels permission to do. That ripple is the actual point.

BEYOND THE WORK

The person behind
the coach.

I don't like being put in a box. I like depth and I like fun — preferably at the same time.

I've traveled to over 40 countries across my life. I scuba dive, hike, do long meditation retreats, and I'm a passionate travel photographer — something I picked up during those three years on the road and never put down. I speak English and French fluently and am probably more comfortable in ambiguity than most people I know — a side effect, I think, of having lived in five different countries within three years, which has a way of recalibrating what you think you need to feel at home.

I moved to Vancouver Island for the same reason most people do: because once you've seen it, everywhere else feels like a draft. I run my practice from there — and from wherever else the work takes me.

My clients tell me I'm very direct — and also very kind and warm. That I push them out of their comfort zone, always with genuine care, in support of what they truly want. In a session, we talk about the real stuff, build real accountability, and get you moving where you actually need to go.

Clarity that sticks. Decisions that move. Momentum that lasts.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

The work, in
their words.

"

She knows when to press in and when to call my bluff. That balance is rare. The work was paradigm shifting — the most meaningful growth period of my career.

She listened with her heart. She pushed me to know exactly who I want to be. I didn't think it was going to change my life forever. It did.

Director · Asia-Pacific Operations

"

Amazing things can happen when you know you have Nat in your corner. There will be moments you think — that was hard. And then moments where you go: wow.
